NAT stands for Network Address Translation and is the magic that joins networks together.
I have met a lot of really smart people that are experts in some pretty amazing fields. More often than not, these same people shy away from non-trivial network discussions when they come up. “that’s the network admin’s job.”
It is fair. Networking is a magical force that caries information from a user’s PC to a server on the other side of the planet…. and back again. Networking is often described in layers. At each layer there are a depth of implementation details to delve into.

I was pretty excited to claim the free Windows 10 upgrade for my PC. I really loved Windows 8 and I was excited to see what Microsoft had been doing to improve it.
Well, my excitement was quickly crushed. It started off fine. The windows 10 Upgrade installation process went smoothly, less a single glitch I detailed in the last post. Once it had completed, I logged into my Microsoft account and went about pushing buttons on the desktop.

I’m probably late to the party here, but I am in the process of upgrading to Windows 10. I’m behind on this, because:
- I haven’t had time to play with it
- I need to reconfigure my Solid State Drives
- I don’t have the space on my SSD for an in place upgrade
- My DVD Burner has been on the fritz
- Microsoft has been delaying releasing the Windows 10 Upgrade to my pc…
